Games vs. Hjemly den 15/11/11
Girls
The girls showed very nice improvement despite not having practiced during the past week. Although we fell behind by 13 points after the first quarter (20-7), the girls kept fighting and played even with Hjemly in the 2nd quarter so that the half time score was 35-22. In the 3rd quarter the hard play and huslte paid off even more as we were able to pull to within 5 points 43-38 as our defense played very well and our defensive rebounding allowed Hjemly only one shot on offense each time down the court. Hjemly were able to get a couple of quick fast break baskets to take the lead up to11 points again before the 4th quarter started. We continued to show fight and determination, but a couple of timely 3 point shots by the opposition kept us at a distiance that we wer not able to close. Hjemly ended up winning 68-51.
Boys A
The boys started the game playing GREAT ! Our offenses worked perfect and the defense was sturdy. The score board showed 18-4 in our favour after the first 5 minutes. It was although we thought the game was over and before we knew it Hjemly had tied the score at 25-25. This game would see-saw back and forth the rest of the game until the score board was even at 65 with just 30 seconds to go. We then woke again , made a 3 pointer, executed an in bounds play to perfection and hit our foul shots to win by 9, 74-65. A great start to the game.... a shaky middle.... and a great ending.
Boys B
This game was fairly close all the way. Although we managed to pull ahead and get a few 10 point leads, Hjemly was always able to repond and pull back even. Throughout the game, we were able to play solid defense and we were able to execute several fast break situations that finished with nice passing and easy baskets. This game was a solid team effort with several players taking the leading scoring role during the game. A good game that resulted in a 8 point win.
